Ethan Wilde. Billionaire. Business Man.

Passionate. Powerful. Persistent.

One of New York’s most eligible bachelors.

Angel Lawson. Photographer. Gallery Owner.

Burdened. Beautiful. Broken.

A woman bound by the ropes of her sins and forgotten past, fearful of her future.

A chance encounter…

Consumed by guilt and tormented by the bonds of a tragic past, Angel Lawson’s life has been a solitary journey, condemned to live without love. In order to preserve her damaged soul from further rejection, sex is as close to a man as she ever plans to get. She was already hell-bound for her sins. One more wasn’t going to hurt ...

... or so she thought.

When a passionate encounter throws her into the world of Ethan Wilde, Angel is helpless to resist the irrefutable desire and depth of raw emotion he ignites in her.

Ethan is as intense as he is sinfully sexy. Irretrievably captivated by Angel, he seems just as intent on understanding her naked soul as he is desperate to possess every inch of her naked body.

Angel craves his touch like a drug and yearns for the love he promises, but surrendering to the feelings he’s unearthed will mean exposing her fears and releasing the demons buried for a lifetime. Exposing her heart will leave it at risk of being broken.

Will Angel choose to leave her life of solitude behind, or is the choice no longer hers?

Ethan Wilde is used to getting what he wants … and what he wants is Angel.

Label on a photo of a twisted rope: Excerpt

With a sexy growl, he turned to leave the room, the sight of his all-masculine form stirring a need within and suddenly an overwhelming urge washed over me. Before I knew what I was doing, I’d picked up the discarded towel from the floor, twirled it into a spiraled rope and flicked him hard on the behind. The action made a loud thwacking noise, and I knew that the end of the towel had caught him perfectly, the image of a large, purple colored splotch right in the middle of his left butt cheek, forming in my mind.
He stopped dead, waited a few agonizing beats, and slowly began to turn at the waist to meet my gaze. Wide eyes and parted lips revealed an expression that flitted somewhere between disbelief and outrage.
Oh shit!
“Not so clever to begin a towel snapping war when you’re butt naked, Miss Lawson.” His eyes slid greedily and victoriously over my bare body.
I felt incredibly exposed. He was right. I was naked and defenseless. He was strong, mean-looking, and blocking my escape route. A look of exultance slid onto his perfect face, his lips twitching with a touch of smugness. Christ, he looked fucking sexy.
I glanced around the room, cautiously weighing my options. Ethan’s eyes seemed to follow mine, moving between him, the open doorway, and my robe, which was discarded on the floor where I’d left it.
“What? You really think you have a hope in hell of escaping?” He shook his head, making a tsking noise.
Shrugging, I replied foolishly, “What? You think you have a hope in hell of stopping me?”
His eyes lit up with the challenge, a smoldering intensity settling on his sinful mouth as his tongue flicked out to run over his upper lip. My gaze shifted briefly to the bulge of his swollen cock straining beneath the fabric of his jeans, leaving me in no doubt as to the level of his aroused state. My mouth kinked into a wry smile.
“I’ll tell you what I’m going to do,” he said guilefully. “I’ll give you to the count to three to make your escape, and then I’m coming after you. And when I catch you—which I will—I’m going to spank your pert, pink ass. And then … I’m going to fuck you … Hard.”

About LURE:

 There's danger in the beauty...

Two years, six months, and twenty-five days. That's how long it had been since I'd seen my winged hero— not that I'd been counting. I'd suffered through years of counseling just to convince my friends and family that I wasn't crazy and knew he didn't exist.

But he did. And I was done waiting.

Days after college graduation I headed back down to New Orleans to retrace my steps and find Owen again only to find my life was about to get even crazier... thanks to the most beautiful and dangerous of all paranormal creatures, the Allures.

 Excerpt

We stood awkwardly for another moment before I had to break the silence. “It’s been a while.”

“Two and a half years.”

“I thought about you the past few Halloweens.”

“I thought about you more than that. It’s actually pretty humiliating now that I’m standing in the same room with you. I don’t know what I was thinking.” She looked away.

“I lied.”

“About?”

I walked toward her. I had to wipe that regret off her face. “I thought about you a lot more than just Halloween.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.” I stopped right in front of her. “You were very memorable.”

“So were you.” She licked her lips. Again with the lips.

“I probably should ask you a million questions right now, but would it be okay if we put those off and did something else?”

“I guess that depends on what else you want to do?” Her eyes widened slightly.

“I want to kiss you.”

“I’m okay with that.” Her eyes seemed to sparkle.

“Yeah?”

“Yeah.”

I didn’t wait for her to change her mind. I brushed my lips against hers gently. I was going to keep it short, but I had to know if I was glorifying the last kiss.

She moved her lips against mine, and any thoughts of keeping it short disappeared. I wrapped my arms around her as I deepened the kiss, greedily pushing for access beyond those irresistible lips of hers. She opened up, welcoming me in with the same intoxicating taste as she had the last time.

She moaned, encouraging me to continue the kiss. I didn’t need the encouragement. I lifted her up and carried her over to the couch. I sat down, settling her on my lap. I needed her close, closer than standing would allow.

Her fingers tangled in my hair as she let me explore her mouth. My hands ached to explore more, but I didn’t want to rush it. I’d waited over two years to taste her lips again, and I was going to enjoy every second of it.

Don't miss SEDUCTION'S KISS,

the prequel novella to Lure (The Allure Chronicles #1)...

Seductions Kiss
About SEDUCTION’S KISS:

*Prequel novella to Lure (The Allure Chronicles #1)*

Never agree to a road trip to New Orleans with your roommate. At least not when your roommate is dragging you along while she reconnects with an ex-boyfriend. Possible consequences of failing to take my advice:

1) Unknowingly going out with a vampire stripper
2) Getting kidnapped by said vampire's nest mates
3) Falling head over heels for your winged hero

Believe it or not number 3 is the worst one, especially when no one believes you that he exists.

The Return - Cover

THE RETURN Excerpt:

I was a half-blood, but I was also the Apollyon, a child of a pure and a half, a union that had been forbidden for thousands of years because an Apollyon was more powerful than any pure or half could ever hope to be.

And I always got to the traitors’ hideouts before they did, so the Sentinels were usually left with the cleanup, which I was sure absolutely thrilled them.

The first to enter was a female half-blood dressed just as I was. Her black hair was pulled back in a neat little knot at the top of her head. She was older, probably in her mid-thirties. It was pretty rare for a Sentinel to live that long. Her dark skin paled as she stopped just inside the entrance. She clenched titanium daggers in her hands like she expected something vicious to pop out from under the bloody mess.

The female Sentinel tipped her chin up, and the overhead light sliced across her broad cheekbones. She bore a jagged scar under her right eye, the skin lighter in tone. She saw me and froze.

My smile widened.

Behind her, another Sentinel rushed in, almost mowing her over. He saw me and whispered, “Seth.”

He’d said my name like I was the monster under his bed, and I sort of liked that. Then another Sentinel and another rolled in. The fifth took one look at my interior design work and keeled over. Slamming his hands on his knees, he hurled up his dinner.

Nice.

Our society existed completely unknown to the average mortal and had operated under what was known as the Breed Order for thousands of years. The Order had been dismantled, which meant halfs were no longer forced to choose between becoming Sentinels—hunting down violent creatures, protecting pures, enforcing laws, and otherwise usually dying pretty damn quickly on the job—or servants, which was a job that really wasn’t a job, but more like slavery. Since then, many pampered pures had signed on to be Sentinels, making up for the loss of the halfs who’d pretty much said “screw this shit, I’m out.”

This wasn’t necessarily a good thing.

For example, the dumbass puking all over my blood-covered floor was a pure. When he straightened, his face a greenish hue, he backed away, shaking his head. “I can’t,” he gasped out. “I can’t do this.

Then he turned and hauled ass out the doors.
I sighed. This was why we couldn’t have nice things.
THE RETURN Synopsis:

The Fates are cackling their bony asses off...

It's been a year since Seth made the deal with the gods that pledged his life to them. And so far, the jobs they've given him have been violent and bloody--which is kind of all right with him. But now Apollo has something else in mind for Seth. He's got to play protector while keeping his hands and fingers off, and for someone who really has a problem with restraint, this new assignment might be the most challenging yet.

Josie has no idea what this crazy hot guy's deal might be, but it's a good bet that his arrival means the new life she started after leaving home is about to be thrown into an Olympian-sized blender turned up to puree. Either Josie is going insane or a nightmare straight out of ancient myth is gunning for her.

But it might be the unlikely attraction simmering between her and the golden-eyed, secret-keeping Seth that may prove to be the most dangerous thing of all.

Because history has once again been flipped to repeat.

ARC Review:Rocky Retreat (Six Pack Ranch #7.5) by Vivian Arend

Finding white-hot love in a white-out…
Eight months ago, Lee Coleman met the woman of his dreams…then lost her to another man. He buried his disappointment by throwing himself into work on the family ranch, but when a winter storm leaves him stranded, Lee finds more than shelter in the rustic safety of a hunter’s cabin—he finds a second shot at love.

Rachel Malone’s heart has been broken and stomped on by her cheating ex, and she’s determined to never fall in love again. But a rebound fling? Doesn’t sound like such a bad idea, especially when she’s snowed-in with a gorgeous, sweet-talking Coleman.

Despite their off-the-charts chemistry, Lee makes it clear he wants more than a temporary romp. In fact, he’s made it his mission to put a smile back on her face, even if it means taking it slow and resisting the scorching heat between them. This time around, he wants forever, while Rachel is positive that forever is a fool’s dream.

Lee can’t wait to prove her wrong…

What I Thought About Rocky Retreat

Rachel retreats to a cabin in the woods to get over the breakup of her six-month marriage, when along comes Lee Colemen. Getting stranded together in the small cabin gives them time to talk, and other things, and it's the beginning of a really sweet novella-sized romance.

I loved everything about this.  The older woman-younger man, his maturity, and her determination to move past her cheating spouse all hit wonderful notes for me in this story. The drama is light, the romance is hot, and the adults all act like adults.  I couldn't have asked for more in a romance, and it was a great little read for this Valentine's Day.

ARC Review:Rough Justice by Sarah Castille

IT TAKES A GOOD, STRONG WOMAN
Raised in a motorcycle gang, tough, beautiful Arianne Hunter has always dreamed of a normal life. But no sooner does she escape her father’s domineering grasp than she wakes up to find herself in a rival gang’s clubhouse—at the mercy of the dangerously sexy Jagger Knight.

The alpha leader of the notorious Sinner’s Tribe, Jagger Knight is all muscle, all biker, and all man. But somewhere inside this hard tattooed outlaw, Arianne senses a kindred spirit—and she can’t ignore their tempestuous attraction. Can she beat him at his own game in a revved-up blaze of glory? Or will their passion spark a war that’s the end of the road for them both?

Amazon US | Amazon UK | Barnes & Noble Chapters Indigo | Book Depository | Books-A-Million | IndieBound

What I thought about Rough Justice
The action starts right in the very first chapter with an arson and theft at Jagger's clubhouse and the capture of a hot rider wearing the cut of a rival MC.  But when the helmet comes off to reveal a fiery woman, Jagger makes the decision to keep her instead of extracting immediate revenge by taking her life.  Not all club members are happy about that and now Jagger has to deal with dissension among the ranks. To say he has his hands full is an understatement.

Arianne wants nothing more than to get out of Conundrum and away from the biker life. She doesn't want to be property. She wants her brother Jeff to go with her, but on the night of their getaway, everything goes wrong and she ends up int he hands of Sinner's Tribe and their mouth-watering leader.

There's some insta-chemistry-love between these two. Sometimes that can bug me, but in this case, these two have so much in common it's believable that they would be attracted to their own best traits in someone of the opposite sex. I liked these two together (most of the time).  Jagger gave Arianne something she wanted, safety from her father, just not in the way she thought she was going to get it.  Although her stay-or-go seesaw attitude got a little overdone toward the end, she eventually sees her real self and makes a decision.

As for Jagger, he's the cool, level-headed president most of the time, except when it comes to Arianne. He has to keep reminding himself that he's not going to get involved. I loved how he protected Arianne from her nasty father, but he had a bit of a mean streak in him too.

I did have some difficulty getting interested in the secondary characters in Rough Justice, mostly because Jagger and Arianne really dominate the story, leaving the rest of the characters without much page time. Dawn, Arianne's best friend, seems to be up next with her story, and she was probably the strongest secondary character. The rest of Sinner's Tribe didn't really stand out to me, and that took away from the story, since a good MC story doesn't lose sight of that brotherhood between the men.

But in spite of a few little itches when reading Rough Justice, I gobbled up the pages and loved Arianne and Jagger's journey to happiness.  If you like your MC stories with a little bit of realism and a heaping dose of romance, then you might like Rough Justice.

Review:No Place to Hide by Shannon Stacey

Jack Donovan went through hell and back to save Isabelle once. Now she’s back in his life, hunted by an assassin so elusive some claim he’s only an urban legend. More than just a gun for hire, the killer is driven by a pathological need to take down his targets and, when Isabelle escapes the bullet meant for her, Jack knows he'll strike again. The only way to keep her alive is to keep her close, and Jack’s about to learn what hell really is.

In the year since Jack rescued her from a guerrilla compound and then walked away, Isabelle Arceneau has begun to put her life back on track. Now somebody wants her dead and Jack is once again her only hope for survival. As the Devlin Group races to uncover the killer’s identity and Jack and Isabelle go on the run in a desperate bid to keep her alive, she knows she can trust him with her life, but never again with her heart.

What I thought about No Place to Hide
Okay, I'll admit it.  I've been missing Shannon Stacey's writing since the Kowalski series wrapped up.  And I'll admit that I had no idea she wrote the Devlin Group series.  It's completely different from the family dramas of the Kowalski series, and I was really drawn to checking it out.

No Place to Hide is the fourth book in the Devlin Group series, and it reads very well as a standalone.  There's loads of action packed suspense as Jack Donovan tries to save Isabelle Arceneau from an assassin's bullet. He's as Alpha as they come, and she's not letting him go now that they're back together.  I liked both of these characters and would have been happy to have a few more intimate scenes between between these two. There was good chemistry between the players on the run too.  It reminded me of everything I love about Shannon Stacey's writing.

No Place to Hide is a page turner, and I finished this pretty quickly. I'm intrigued enough about the rest of the Devlin Group to put the first three books on my TBR, too.

If you are in the mood for a quick read with a little romance and lots of action, this just might be the title for you.
