What I thought about Some Kind of Perfect

I love a good epilogue that lets the reader know just what happened to the characters the author made us fall in love with, especially with a long ten-book series. Some Kind of Perfect really does an amazing job of reminding this reader why I just really liked these unique characters and their world.

Reading ten books is an investment but it's an easy one to make when the stories are intriguing and the characters, compelling and sometimes frustrating, but they are characters a reader won't forget. From the first pages of the Addicted series and Lily and Lo, I've been addicted to them and the Calloway Sisters as well. This epilogue novel was absolutely terrific.

Some Kind of Perfect was the perfect way to end the series. It wraps this series up in a bow and doesn't disappoint.

Keep your relationship secret from the public.

Farrow is confident he’s the best man for the job. But a twist in Maximoff’s fast-paced life sticks them with the rest of Security Force Omega and their clients.

On the road.

Damaged Like Us (Like Us #1 )
by Krista & Becca Ritchie
Publication Date: June 27, 2017
Genres:
New Adult, Contemporary, Romance

Maximoff Hale is a force of nature. A ship unwilling to be steered. Headstrong, resilient, and wholly responsible — the twenty-two-year-old alpha billionaire can handle his unconventional life. By noon, lunch can turn into a mob of screaming fans. By two, his face is all over the internet.

Born into one of the most famous families in the country, his celebrity status began at birth.

He is certified American royalty.

When he’s assigned a new 24/7 bodyguard, he comes face-to-face with the worst case scenario: being attached to the tattooed, MMA-trained, Yale graduate who’s known for “going rogue” in the security team — and who fills 1/3 of Maximoff's sexual fantasies.

Twenty-seven-year-old Farrow Keene has one job: protect Maximoff Hale. Flirting, dating, and hot sex falls far, far out of the boundary of his bodyguard duties and into “termination” territory. But when feelings surface, protecting the sexy-as-sin, stubborn celebrity becomes increasingly complicated.

Together, boundaries blur, and being exposed could mean catastrophic consequences for both.

The Like Us series is a true series, one continuous timeline, that follows a family of wealthy celebrities and the people that protect them. Damaged Like Us can be read and enjoyed without reading any of Krista & Becca's other novels.

Synopsis

Love is a circus

"Every day,” he says lowly, “I hold a person’s life in my hands. The circus is based one-hundred percent off of trust. I give it all to someone, and they give it all to me.”

The best aerial technique won’t land 21-year-old Thora James her dream role in Amour—a sexy new acrobatic show on the Vegas strip. Thora knows she’s out of her element the second she meets Amour’s leading performer. Confident, charming and devilishly captivating, 26-year-old Nikolai Kotova aggravatingly lives up to his nickname as the “God of Russia.”

When Thora unknowingly walks into the crosshairs of Nikolai’s after-show, her audition process begins way too soon. Unprofessional. That’s what Nik calls their “non-existent” relationship. It’s not like Thora can avoid him. For one, they may be partners in the future—acrobatic partners, that is. But getting closer to Nik means diving deeper into sin city and into his dizzying world.

Thora wants to perform with him, but when someone like Nikolai attracts the spotlight wherever he goes—Thora fears that she’s destined to be “just background” to his spellbinding show.

This sexy and exhilarating New Adult Romance can best be described as Cirque du Soleil meets the steamy, athletic romance of Center Stage. *standalone & no love triangles—recommended for readers 18+ for mature content*

SUMMARY

Two years will change them forever.

When rumors spread like wildfire—like having three-ways with her boyfriend’s rock climbing brother—Lily Calloway spirals into a dark place. Her bedroom. Loren Hale is more confident and determined to keep their sex life private, even from their friends, and he helps Lily in the only way he knows how. But how much love is too much?

Their lives are filmed, watched, and criticized. And through it all, Lily and Loren have to face enemies they never thought they’d see, demons they don’t know if they should bury, and setbacks they didn’t think they’d meet. Not this soon.

And one rumor could be too much for them to handle. It will test their greatest limitations, and if they don’t hold onto each other, someone is going to drown.

A full-length New Adult Romance that bridges the gap between the second and third books. Thrive must be read before Addicted After All if you have not read the Calloway Sisters spin-off

Excerpt

Loren Hale’s POV
Ryke takes out his phone and texts someone before setting his cell on the table near mine. When the waitress returns, we place our orders, and then three girls giggle loudly at the bar. They notice us in the back and smack each other’s arms. I read their lips: that’s them.
All wear themed sorority shirts like Go Greek! and Tri and Beat Us with running shorts. In their twenties—the kind of girls that go to the college I was expelled from.
University of Pennsylvania.
Ryke openly checks the girls out, and they nearly shriek, their eyes bulging.
“You’d think that you just gave them a ride in your Maserati,” I say to my brother.
“I don’t own a Maserati.” It was a figure of speech. He stands up and tosses his napkin on the chair. “Give me five minutes.”
Connor pockets his phone. “That long?”
“Fuck off,” Ryke says easily before leaving to approach the girls.
I think the redhead on the end is going to faint.

I love this series!

Synopsis
Virgin. Sex addict. Daredevil. Alcoholic. Smartass … Jackass. Her five friends are about to be filmed. Reality TV, be prepared.

Rose Calloway thought she had everything under control. At twenty-three, she’s a Princeton graduate, an Academic Bowl champion, a fashion designer and the daughter of a Fortune 500 mogul. But with a sex addict as a sister and roommate, nothing comes easy. After accepting help from a producer, Rose agrees to have her life filmed for a reality television show. The Hollywood exec is her last chance to revive her struggling fashion line, and boundaries begin to blur as she’s forced to make nice with a man who always has his way. Twenty-four-year-old Connor Cobalt is a guy who bulldozes weak men. He’s confident, smart-as-hell and lives with his equally ambitious girlfriend, Rose Calloway. Connor has to find a way to protect Rose without ruining the show. Or else the producer will get what Connor has always wanted—Rose’s virginity.

This New Adult Standalone Romance can be described as Friends meets The Real World. Expect fist fights, drugs, sex of varying degrees, crude humor and competitive alpha males. Definitely for mature readers audiences only.

What I thought about Kiss the Sky:

Once again, I'm surprised by a book in this series. I didn't quite know what to expect, and what I got was a very sweet love story.  Rose Calloway isn't the most likeable character at the start.  She's not an "easy" person. Her boyfriend, Connor Cobalt, is arrogant, intelligent, domineering and Rose's perfect match, but he doesn't believe in love. Kiss The Sky is really the story of Rose and Connor gradually opening their hearts to each other.  I enjoyed this romance very much.

Their love story is set against the backdrop of a reality TV show that Rose agrees to in order to help boost her struggling fashion line and help to fix the image of the family company after poor press around her sister, Lily and her boyfriend Lo. Rose's two sisters, Lily and Daisy are part of the reality show, along with Lo and his brother Ryke.

While the goings on during the reality show are interesting, and there's a great villain in Scott, the producer, the real story is Connor and Rose and their relationship. There's no insta-love here, but more like a love transformation. There's tenderness and understanding and plenty of heat between these two.  Krista and Becca Ritchie do a wonderful job of showing the love here, and I especially loved the use of the French language to show the intimacy between these two characters.

I don't want to spoil all the interesting twists that happen, and all the swoony parts, but there was a lot in this book I didn't anticpate, especially the ending.  Kiss the Sky has plenty of drama, but it is the romance between Connor and Rose that really captured my heart.

Recommended.
