Blurb:

If I can keep Hush Note’s leading guitarist, Nixon Winters, on the straight and narrow for the next six months, I’ll finally get my own band to manage—assuming we don’t kill each other first.

The egotistical, irritating rock star is fresh out of rehab, but it’s obvious his demons followed him home—and now I’m sleeping down the hall. I’ve watched him self-destruct every summer, and with album deadlines and tour dates looming, I can’t let it happen again.

My career is in his hands.
But tattoos can’t cover every scar, and I’m starting to see through his trademark, irresistible charm to the damage beneath. Everyone wants the rock star. I’m falling for the man. If he doesn’t let me in, he’ll never break the cycle— And when these six months are up, I might be the one left broken.

What I thought about Muses & Melodies

This third installment of the Hush Note series from Rebecca Yarros tells the story of Nixon, guitarist and composer for the band.  He's out of rehab but it's a struggle to stay sober, especially when the demons from his past show up every summer.

With tour dates and deadines looming, Nixon's manager gives him a handler.  Zoe Shannon is a dedicated professional with a career plan that hinges upon making sure that Nixon doesn't implode under the pressure. It doesn't hurt that she gets to live with Nixon while she does that.

Things are touch and go for a while.  Nixon isn't an easy going guy. He's got scars he doesn't want to talk about. But Zoe gradually finds a way into his heart and mind, and Nixon gets her to let her hair down too. They are so adorable when they finally give in to what they are feeling for each other. Zoe's little home town in Colorado is just what he needs, but demons still haunt Nixon and things don't always end up with hearts and flowers.

I loved how all this worked out in the end (not going to spoil it).

Rebecca Yarros knows how to wring out a tear or two in a romance, and this is no exception.  It's just all so perfect.  There are really nice scenes with the rest of the band that just make this a perfect conclusion to the story of Hush Note.

This is one terrific series, each story building on the next, and I can't recommend this enough to romance fans, especially if you like a good rock star story.

An ARC was provided.  This is my honest review.
