Dallas Walker is haunted. He won’t ever forget the horrors he witnessed while working undercover to bust a human trafficking ring, but he has a plan to start a new life. Coming home to his family is step one. Getting to know his alluring new neighbor could be step two. If only she’d give him a chance…

Maggie Ellis just wants to be left alone. She’d rather spend her days spinning clay into art and feel nothing than open herself up to another devastating loss. But her sexy new neighbor with a lonely look in his eyes isn’t giving up. And he makes her question everything…
Together, Dallas and Maggie might have a shot at happily ever after. But only if they can let go of the past and hold on to each other when it matters most.

What I thought about Waiting on Forever
Dallas Walker has returned home after retiring from his job in law
enforcement.  After grueling years working undercover, he's had enough
and the scars left on his soul from the job weigh heavy on him.  He is
glad to be back home with his siblings, but he's still a bit of a
loner.  While house hunting, he meets Maggie, a reclusive woman around
his age. He's intrigued and determined to get to know her better, even
though she's not open to the idea.
Abby
has scars too. The kind of scars the Walkers are familiar with. Dallas
is incredibly sensitive to Maggie as he melts her coolness toward him.
It's a beautiful love story as Maggie and Dallas find common ground with the demons that keep them up at night. In spite of the devastating circumstances, there's also
hope here, and that's why I love this series so very much. Of all the
Walker Brothers stories, I think this one tugged on my heart the
most.

Maggie is a bit prickly at first, but Dallas melts her ice -- eventually.  Her pain is so deep it's going to take a strong, sensitive man like Dallas to break through and show her she's not alone. She carries a heavy heart and it's only when after she connects with Dallas that she sees there can be a future for her.
I
really did love everything about Maggie and Dallas's love story.  Their
feelings develop gradually for each other and there's plenty of heat
between them as their relationship grows. And then there's some very
serious drama toward the end that threatens everything Dallas and Maggie
have together. I really didn't see this one coming at me and I liked
that!

There's great banter between the
brothers, which I loved. It's always a treat when an author brings
previous characters together in a book, and very satisfying to see the
progression of their lives in this family oriented series.  There are
some relatable family moments here.

One of the hallmarks of a great
series is wanting to go back an re-read from the beginning whenever
there is a new release.  That's exactly how I felt after reading Waiting
on Forever.  I definitely recommend this series for romance readers.  There's always the right amount of everything in these stories, and the writing just carries me right into the story and I didn't want to put it down.

Waiting on Forever is a terrific feel-good romance. Surprising in spots and downright heartwarming in others, I couldn't put this down until the end and it left me wanting to do a re-read of the series.  I can't think of higher praise.  I loved the swoony and patient Dallas, and my heart went out to Maggie. Their HEA was a lovely way to end this series.
