What I thought about Here With Me
The minute I started this book I knew I was done for -- I was immediately pulled into the story and didn't want to let it go until I found out all the secrets held within it's pages. I love books like this, where getting involved in the story happens right from the start and I find myself staying up late (or sometimes all night) to find out what's going to happen.
Here with Me starts out with a bang, with police officer Robyn Penhaligon (omg, that name just slips off the tongue in such a nice way!) involved in a terrible life-changing situation. A year later, she's no longer a cop, and she's in Scotland looking up her long lost father Mac Galbraith.
Mac is the head of security for an estate that caters to the rich and famous, and is owned by Lachlan Adair. Lachlan is a bit secretive and is suspicious of Robyn at first. There's a problem at the estate that requires some investigation and circumstances necessitate Robyn's involvement, bringing Lachlan and Robyn in close contact.
As the investigation progresses, Robyn and Lachlan's relationship grows and changes into something else, something romantic, and I loved how things progressed for them. There's no insta-love here, and the writing is terrific. I really enjoyed everything about this book and would definitely recommend it to romance and suspense readers who are looking for an engaging story taking place in Scotland. Of course the location is just another "character" if you will in this story, and that was also another selling point in its favor. I just loved everything about this and I'm looking forward to the second book in this two book series now.
