Review: The Opposite of Right by Christi Barth

Kylie Stafford has spent her whole life doing exactly what’s expected. The right major, the right sorority, the right guys, just like her mother and her sister before her. But when everything falls apart for her, Kylie wonders if doing everything right has been utterly wrong. There’s only one way to find out.

She decides to try making all the wrong choices for three months. Hit on a tattoo-covered rock musician? Check. Go back to his dressing room for a hot hook-up against the wall? Gulp. Drop everything to be a roadie for him to binge on more of the best sex of her life? Maybe. Start falling for him despite her better judgment? Um….yeah. Figure out why doing everything that seems wrong feels so darn right?

What I thought about The Opposite of Right

Kylie has a problem. A couple of them. No job, no apartment, no guy.  But instead of feeling sorry for herself, she decides she's going to stop doing everything right, and start making some bad decisions, since doing the right thing hasn't exactly worked for her.

What follows is a sweet little romp on the road with the band Riptide. Kylie's in it for the month, but when the heat between Kylie and Cam starts to get serious, everything goes beyond doing the opposite of right.

I really liked The Opposite of Right. In this rock-band romance, the focus here isn't on taming the bad boy, because both Kylie and Cam aren't wreckless. Their time together develops into a sweet relationship, not insta-love which really made me happy.  It was a fun and easy read and a bit low-key, and it kept me turning the pages.  This novella sized story was just perfectly sized, and I liked it all.  I'll be keeping an eye out for more in this series.
