Review: Wicked Fall (The Wicked Horse #1) by Sawyer Bennett

Never in your wildest dreams could you begin to imagine all the filthy and depraved things that go on inside The Wicked Horse. Step inside and Woolf Jennings will make every one of your dirty fantasies come true.

He’s covered in a facade of deception. An enticing blend of multi-millionaire and hot-as-hell Wyoming rancher, those that think they know Woolf Jennings admire his abilities to preside as CEO of his family’s cattle and oil empire. But only a privileged few truly understand what fuels the glitter of depravity in those gorgeous blue eyes. Only a few know he’s opened up a sinfully erotic and private sex club named The Wicked Horse right at the base of the beautiful Teton Mountain range.

Sweet Callie Hayes has returned home to Wyoming and is looking forward to starting her life over again. After a night of impetuosity, she’s managed to put herself right in Woolf’s line of sight… the man who she foolishly offered up her virginity to years ago and was flatly turned down.

Now Woolf is seeing that Callie is all grown up and has a kinky side to her that leaves him as confused as it does turned on. Worse yet, both Callie’s dirty desires and sweet heart are getting under his skin, and making Woolf question everything he’s ever believed about himself.

What I thought about Wicked Fall

I've been wanting to read more from this author since reading the Night Shift anthology earlier this year, so when Wicked Fall became available on NetGalley I requested it, so I could start with a first book in this author's many series.

Woolf is wealthy and not all that happy about running the family business. So he's keeping himself occupied with something that does interest him and that's \ a new business venture with his best friend Badger called the Wicked Horse nightclub. Only the Wicked Horse is a front for the real business -- and that's an exclusive sex club catering to just about any sexual desire, no matter how kinky.

Callie Hays, Governor's daughter, comes home to Wyoming after dumping her cheating ex, and runs into Woolf at the Wicked Horse.  Her childhood crush isn't too happy to find her as part of wet t-shirt night and he scoops her right up and out of the bar.

The rest of the book is all about how these two move beyond their past and into the future.  Woolf is afraid of sullying Callie with his depraved sexual needs, and Callie doesn't want to be the "good girl" anymore making for some mildly interesting conflict, mostly in Woolf's head.

The action really starts as Woolf awakens her desires, and Callie wants to participate in Woolf's sex club, but things go wrong when she finally convinces him to take her.

This book is more about these two falling in love than it is about the sex club and I thought the sex club part was actually fairly tame.  But the bedroom and beyond scenes between Callie and Woolf were sexually charged and seductive, and I liked seeing a man like Woolf fall hard.  There weren't a lot of surprises to the story, but that was okay.  I would absolutely read the next book in this series.  I really think Badger's story might just be the one worth waiting for.

Overall, a steamy, quick read with a sweet little HEA.
