ON THE ROCKS Synopsis:
Love is best served on the rocks.
My roommates look really good naked. At least one of them does. I’m sure the other one does too, but I haven’t seen him without his pants on. Living with two guys wasn't something I’d ever considered, but the opportunity fell in my lap, and I’d have been crazy to turn it down.
College went by in a great big blur leaving me with less of a direction than I had going in. Add in a family that wanted nothing to do with me, and my post-college plans were less than clear. What’s a girl to do when she has nowhere else to turn? She moves to the Outer Banks and learns to bartend. After all, it was my horrible bartending skills that led me to my roommate’s bed and into his heart.

What I thought about On the Rocks
On the Rocks is the second book in the Mixology series by Alyssa Rose Ivy. I hadn’t read the first book in the series, but I was able to follow along with the characters in this one just fine. One the Rocks is a sweet little love story between Carly and Macon. Carly has just graduated from college and with nowhere else to go, looks to her brother Colin for a place to stay until she finds out what she wants to do with her life.
When Carly’s brother decides to make it permanent with his girlfriend Maddy, Carly is invited to take Maddy’s room at the condo she had been sharing with her best friend Macon and his friend Brody. Everyone is a bit nervous about this arrangement because it’s clear to everyone that Macon has feelings for Carly and living together in the same condo might just cause some serious problems. After all, brother Colin is looking out for his sister, and Macon has a love-em-and leave-em reputation.
What follows is a sweet love story between Carly and Macon, where the truth comes out that Macon isn’t quite the womanizer everyone believes him to be. There are some nice sparks between these two and it wasn’t hard to root for their relationship. I was really glad that there wasn’t some huge drama that broke them apart. On the Rocks is more of an uplifting power of love story.
Carly has a few secrets of her own, which get resolved in a very nice way before the end of the book. This was a fun, easy to read love story that is just perfect for an afternoon at the beach or on the deck while you sip your lemonade or Long Island Iced Tea.
