What I thought about Finding Haven

Having had enough of his life and with the financial means to just disappear, Evan Carlson says enough and does just that. He leaves behind a successful acting career to just take a break on Perry Island. I was hooked on Evan right from the start, there's just something about him. Maybe it was his "girlfriend" had done to him.  Whatever it was, he's a very sympathetic and likable character. When he finds no one recognizes him, he decides to stay, masquerading as Jay the writer and living on the island's campground.

Haven, a recent college graduate, works at her father’s store in town. She has dreams of being a songwriter. She’s got some anger over being stuck there, and it runs deeper than just wanting out of the town. But when Haven finds out that there’s a writer in town, sparks begin to fly between Haven and Jay, aka Evan.

There’s a lot of chemistry between these two characters. Evan and Haven just click together, and it broke my heart when secrets get revealed and everything falls apart. Don’t want to spoil the ending, so I’m not going to say anymore, but this story had just the right amount of drama for me.

The pacing was good too, and it didn’t take long to finish. A very sweet, feel-good read that made me want to say “ahhhh.
