Exclusive Excerpt:

When Alice rounded the back of the van, it was to discover that Marigold was no longer in her crate.

Or even in the van.

Instead, she was being held in the muscular arms of the man—ghost—from the hotel.

And the normally good-natured raccoon was hissing.

Alice froze and then forced herself forward. “What are you doing? Give her to me.”

He flashed a wickedly sensual smile that caused a ripple of sensation to wash through her, carrying an unexpected heat to every nerve ending in her body. She suddenly felt too hot, too breathless, too…alive.

“She clearly would prefer to be held by you,” he said easily. “I can’t say that I blame her.”

His blue eyes gleamed, glowing in the reflected brightness of the lantern lights affixed on either side of her front door. When he stepped toward her, she automatically took a step back. This man—this ghost—most definitely didn’t belong in her yard, holding her raccoon. He was… too much.

Too tall, too big, too intense, too gorgeous.

Her breath gave a funny little hitch in her throat.

He was beautiful.

Maybe her age? Late twenties? Or early thirties? Tall; he was easily six feet, maybe a couple of inches more. Broad shoulders angled down to a slim waist with no softness showing anywhere. And he had amazing bone structure. She suddenly wanted to dig out the paints she’d tried out a few times when she was enjoying her new freedom and try to capture the strength in his jaw, the sharpness of his high cheekbones, and the glow in his eyes. His face held a slight beard, as though he hadn’t shaved in the days before he’d died, and those long, dark lashes shaded not just his incredible eyes but the shadows beneath them. His dark hair was swept back from his forehead, as if he’d impatiently shoved it out of his way with one of the large, capable hands that currently held an armful of unhappy raccoon.

Marigold hissed again, snapping Alice out of her trance, and she edged forward, took the angry creature, and stumbled back and away from her unexpected visitor. She swallowed, hard, and tried to regain control of the situation.

The only way to deal with ghosts was to take the reins at the very beginning of each encounter. She thought she’d done this at the hotel, but she’d been caught off guard by the man’s—the ghost’s—aliveness. She’d encountered ghosts who could manipulate objects before, of course, but nothing like this.

“Listen. I—” The amusement in his gaze threw her off, and she forgot what she’d been about to say. So, she asked a basic question to give herself time to regroup. “What is your name? I can’t keep thinking of you as ‘that man’ or ‘that ghost.’”

His devilish smile flashed again. “I like that you keep thinking of me.”

Release Blitz: 5 Big Stars for The Dating Plan by Sara Desai

"This is a gem."—Publishers Weekly

The Dating Plan, the all new much anticipated sexy fake fiancé romantic comedy from Sara Desai is available now!

Even with a step-by-step plan, these fake fiances might accidentally fall for each other in this hilarious, heartfelt romantic comedy from the author of The Marriage Game.

Daisy Patel is a software engineer who understands lists and logic better than bosses and boyfriends. With her life all planned out, and no interest in love, the one thing she can't give her family is the marriage they expect. Left with few options, she asks her childhood crush to be her decoy fiance.

Liam Murphy is a venture capitalist with something to prove. When he learns that his inheritance is contingent on being married, he realizes his best friend's little sister has the perfect solution to his problem. A marriage of convenience will get Daisy's matchmaking relatives off her back and fulfill the terms of his late grandfather's will. If only he hadn't broken her tender teenage heart nine years ago...

Sparks fly when Daisy and Liam go on a series of dates to legitimize their fake relationship. Too late, they realize that very little is convenient about their arrangement. History and chemistry aren't about to follow the rules of this engagement.

What I thought about The Dating Plan
Daisy Patel has a job she likes and is content with her life, if only her aunties would stop trying to find her a spouse. And so what if her ex-boyfriend is dating her ex-boss.  She can handle it.  What she can't handle is literally running into the guy who stood her up ten years ago for Prom.  Him, she hasn't forgiven yet or forgotten. Her brother's best friend, her entire family holds a grudge against Liam Murphy for hurting Daisy and abandoning their family.
When Liam Murphy finds out he needs to get married to inherit a beloved piece of family property, there's only one person he can ask to be a fake fiancé, and that's Daisy. Even though she is reluctant and still angry with him, Daisy sees a benefit too -- her aunties might stop with their arranged marriage proposals if she already has a fiancé
As Daisy plans their dates that will establish their fake relationship, sh has the opportunity to heal old wounds with Liam.  It isn't long before they are acting like old friends, bantering about everything. There's a real spark between these two characters that I absolutely loved about this story.
I found myself laughing so many times while reading this book. Daisy is adorable as she tries so hard to stay mad at Liam and he tries hard to melt the walls she put around her after being stood up by him. He does have a good reason for breaking her heart that night, and he gives some great apology too.  It's clear from the start they still have feelings for each other, it's just going to take some work on Liam's part.
I just loved this -- it was so much fun, the aunties were hysterically funny, and Daisy's father was just the right mix of fatherly and forgiving.  This story warmed my heart in more than one way, and I can't recommend this book enough. If you are looking for a wonderfully romantic friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers story, The Dating Plan is a terrific choice.
A complementary copy was provided by the publisher. This is my honest review.

Release Day Review: Return to Us (Willow Creek Valley #1) By Corinne Michaels

Return to Us by Corinne Michaels is now live!

From New York Times Bestselling author Corinne Michaels comes a new second chance standalone love story.

At eighteen, I walked away from Willow Creek Valley for good.

I was young, scared, and stupid, and it cost me the love of my life—Grayson Parkerson.

Fourteen years later, a crash sends me back home to recover.

Back to where we met, fell in love, and planned a future.

The one he’s now living as a single dad to his daughter.

Working at The Park Inn together gives us a chance to reconnect, and seeing him with his little girl makes me long for the days when he was mine. One look in his gorgeous blue-green eyes, and it’s like I never left. One kiss, and my world is upside down. One night together, and I know without a doubt, in his arms is where I belong.

I’m not the girl I was—intimidated by his wealthy family and desperate to escape our small town. I can imagine a new life for us here.

But he’s learned to guard his heart, and trust won’t come easily.

How can I convince him to give first love a second chance?

What I thought about Return To Us
In this first installment in the new Willow Creek Valley series, Corinne Michaels begins the story with a character readers met in the last book in the recently completed Arrowood series.
Jessica survived the plane crash but is struggling with a traumatic brain injury. She's back in her childhood hometown -- a place she thought she would never return to when she walked away from her high school sweetheart to pursue her dream of getting out of Willow Creek Valley.
Years later, she's home and dreading the fact she might run into the only man she's ever loved -- Grayson Parkerson. The town is small and she is friends with his sister, so it's only a matter of time before they see each other.
Grayson was devastated when Jessica broke it off with him, dashing their plans for a future together. I really can't say that I blame her for what she did -- Grayson's parents are awful, there's no other way to say it. It doesn't take long for the spark left between them to reignite but both are very hesitant to give their hearts away a second time. Grayson knows Jessica isn't going to stay in Willow Creek once she's cleared to fly, so he's trying to protect his heart. He does some stupid stuff that could end up having devastating unintended consequences.
I devoured this story.  Jessica's story of recovery after her illness is fascinating and I really liked how that part of the story was presented. Her friends Delia and Stella are awesome too, and I liked her maturity in dealing with her feelings toward Grayson, his family and Willow Creek.
Grayson was a little harder for me to like, especially with some of his reactions toward the end of the story. However, I did like this second chance romance especially since it was very clear that these two still loved and were in love with each other, even though they had things to work out. Grayson's daughter is a sweetheart too.
Return to Us is a great start to this new series!  It has everything that you expect from a Corinne Michaels story. Love and heart and family -- with a little angst thrown in there for good measure.
A complementary copy was provided. This is my honest review.

Book Blurb:

I always knew I was different.

From a young age, my mind has been plagued with things only I could see. Some hauntingly beautiful, others completely terrifying. Never knowing if these visions were real or just hallucinations, I learned how to lock them down and ignore them. I learned to take solace in the relative anonymity of city life and find peace in the rainy days my city of Seattle is known for.

But just when I think my life is getting on track and my dreams are achievable, a moment of weakness causes me to learn a hard and fast lesson.

My entire existence has been a lie.

Now I’m faced with a new reality that’s as implausible as it is fantastical. Filled with realms and veils, light and dark, fae and daemons, gods and angels—things I don’t understand but am forced to acknowledge. It doesn’t help that the man teaching me about my unique gifts is the gorgeously handsome Carrick Byrne, one of Seattle’s richest and most powerful men. He intimidates, annoys, and intrigues me all at the same time. I don’t trust him and yet there’s no one else to help me.

No longer certain who to put my faith in, what to believe, or how I fit into it all, one revelation is clear…

The world as I know it will never be the same again.

The Revelation of Light and Dark is book one of the Chronicles of the Stone Veil series and is best enjoyed if read in series order.
