Review & Giveaway -- Code Name:Sentinel by Sawyer Bennett

Code Name: Sentinel (Jameson Force Security, Book #2)
Sawyer Bennett
Release Date: September 10, 2019

Synopsis

As a former member of the United States Secret Service, I’m no stranger to putting my life on the line in the name of duty. Having left the nation’s capital to re-settle in Pittsburgh, the skills I acquired during my tenure in Washington have made me a valued member of the team at Jameson Force Security. But when the President comes seeking a favor to protect his niece, I find myself on the fast track back to the Oval Office.

Simply put… she’s beyond brilliant. A nationally renowned energy scientist, Barrett Alexander is on the verge of a breakthrough that will change the world. Unfortunately, that has also made her the target of a suspected terrorist cell. And while Barrett doesn’t believe she’s in any real danger, the President isn’t willing to take chances with her life.

As the threats against Barrett become more calculated, I decide taking her on the run is her best chance of survival. Danger, isolation, and attraction ensure we grow closer than I’d ever thought possible. When I realize I want to keep her safe for reasons that have nothing to do with my job and everything to do with the woman I’ve fallen in love with, no one is safe from the hell I’ll rain down on those that threaten her.

What I thought about Code Name:Sentinel

In this second installment of the Jameson Security Force series, Cruce Britton has been tasked with a very special assignment -- protect the president's niece Barrett who happens to be working on a formula to provide clean energy to the world.  When intelligence chatter seems to indicate she is in danger, Cruce is called in since he is someone the president trusts.

Without much to go on, Cruce and Barrett end up in hiding on a tropical island. Yeah -- you know what that means! It's a great environment for Cruce and Barrett to hook up!  And that's exactly what they do.  It's really sweet since they are really both out of their element here. What starts off as just sex turns into something much more meaningful between them, and there is a definite joy in their discovery of each other and what they've been missing in their lives.

When Barrett makes a mistake in judgement, she puts herself at risk and things get very tense and action-oriented when Barrett ends up with the wrong folks and Cruce must save her. The rest of the Jameson Security Force is behind him and it's really cute how they've all figured out that Cruce has fallen for Barrett and don't let him forget it.

There's a very nicely crafted ending to the story, as Cruce and Barrett both come to grips with what they want in life. Code Name:Sentinel was a very entertaining story with just the right amount of action and romance to satisfy this reader.

She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.
