Emerson
Everyone thinks they know who I am. I’m that reality TV star that fell in love with co-star Wesley Rich. But reality wasn’t my life. It was the life I lived in front of the cameras.
A life designed to entertain millions of watchers each Monday night.
It only took one night to relive my past, and one night to forget my future. With someone who had been there all along.
Logan
Soccer is my life—it’s in my blood.
I train hard, I play hard, and I win. Nothing will break my focus.
I should have been able to avoid it, resist the temptation. But it’s there, playing every Monday night, an obsession I can’t seem to shake.
And I don’t know what was harder: hiding it from my best friend, or watching the woman I want live a life with someone else.
What I thought about Kicking Reality
Emerson thinks she has the perfect life -- a great fiance, a new apartment and it's all playing out in the reality show she and her fiance are staring in. That is until her boyfriend is photographed in a compromising position. Emerson is home with her family when she finds out and its her brother's best friend Logan that is there to "help" her get through her fiance's betrayal.
For Logan, the night with Emerson is anything but casual. He's interested in more, and so is she, but since she is under contract for the reality show, she must pretend to still be engaged. Logan isn't too happy about that.
The decision to keep everything secret blows up in their face, and there's a price to pay for their secret. I had to keep turning the page to see how this was all going to end.
This was a cute brother's-best-friend story. I have to say that Emerson's brother Ash is a bit of a jerk, and I liked Logan for the most part. I was definitely invested in what was going to happen between these two and there were some parts that I thought something (bad) was going to happen and I was glad that it didn't.
This is very much Logan and Emerson's story. There's a small subplot involving a marriage and the usual snarking between reality show stars.Although a bit predictable, I did enjoy their story.
