How would I describe myself? Well, I’m Muse Harper. I’m a twenty-something painter who loves red wine, quirky movies, and men with a fatal flaw. But that was before I met Jasper King. He became my fatal flaw. Eight months ago, I had a choice to make—abandon everything I’ve ever known to protect my family, or stay and risk someone getting hurt. I chose the former. My plan was working just fine until I found out my father had gone missing.

That’s when I met Jasper. A bounty hunter with the eyes of a tiger and the nose of a bloodhound, he was supposed to help me find my father. What I didn’t know was that meeting him was no accident. Hunting people isn’t all that Jasper does. And helping me was only part of his plan. I just wish I’d found out sooner, before my heart got involved. But even then, I don’t know if I’d have done things differently.

Now, I have another choice to make—trust the man that I’m falling in love with and hope that he’ll do the right thing, or run as far away from him as I can get. And is he strong enough to let her?

Is she strong enough to trust the most dangerous man she’s ever met? And is he strong enough to let her?

What I thought about Strong Enough

Oh, this book.  It grabs  you by the throat in its opening pages with a prologue that is so gut-wrenching you just have to keep reading.  And after reading what happened to make Jasper into the man that he is, it's a delicious ride as he's faced with so many emotions and urges as he gets closer to his Muse and his carefully constructed walls start to tumble.

Muse thinks he's helping her find her father, but in reality it is so much more than that, which is something that kept me wanting to know what the heck was going on, and how Muse and Jasper could ever come out of this intact.  When Jasper tells her there's only one way this is all going to turn out, he's telling the truth and yet I had to keep reading to see if there was a chance for  him to have some happiness after everything he'd been through.

There's a nice mix of action, romance and revelations in Strong Enough and it kept me turning the pages. There's a lot of internal narration too, although I liked Jasper working through his feelings. The story ends with as big of a bang as it started with, and that made it very satisfying.

Great start to the Tall, Dark and Dangerous trilogy.
