“Of course I remember that wedding,” Liv said, staring at Wolf anew. And then recognition dawned. The groom had worn white, but the groomsmen had worn black, and Wolf had been among them. “We did meet! I don’t know how I didn’t recognize you sooner.” Or, certainly, how she hadn’t remembered his unusual name. Actually, she had an idea. Back then, Liv had still been so stung by Caleb’s betrayal that she’d feared her interest in men had died with her engagement. Back then, weddings had still been difficult for her to do.

“Me, either,” he said, smiling. “But damn. This is crazy that we ran into each other like this after meeting before.”

“It is,” she said with a grin. “And it makes me even happier that I caught Caleb. Because I wouldn’t have met you then, and I also wouldn’t be here with you now.” Her pulse spiked at admitting how much being with Wolf pleased her, but she was thirty-one and had just let this man fuck her against a hotel window, so she saw no reason not to be honest. Putting herself out there was something she was trying to learn to do more of, every damn day.

Wolf leaned in and kissed her lingeringly. He tasted of red wine and buttery steak, a heady combination that had her moving in for more kisses when he tried to pull away. “I’m glad you’re here with me, Liv.”

His hand slid into her hair and he came over her, forcing her backward until they lay on the floor between the couch and the coffee table, Wolf’s long, lean body covering hers. They kissed and writhed, hands wandering, clothes falling away again.

“I love how you submit to me,” he whispered around the edge of a kiss.

Do you have any idea what your wedding night is going to be like?

The memory came from out of nowhere. A snippet of conversation between Willow and her bridesmaids from the room where the women had dressed for the ceremony. Liv had been unboxing their bouquets from the protective cartons in which she’d brought them. Laughing and teasing, the women had all stopped dressing to hear Willow’s response.

Ladies, I’m a submissive, wife or not. If that man doesn’t put me on my knees tonight, there’s going to be trouble in paradise.

What I thought about Eyes on You

When Wolf saves Liv from an extremely bad date, neither one of them realize just how perfect they are for each other. But they will, as Wolf is intrigued and attracted to Liv and he doesn't want to let her go. So they spend their first night together and WOW! So hot and steamy!

Turns out that Wolf and Liv are extremely compatible in their sexual desires, with Liv an exhibitionist and and Wolf a voyeur. And it gets even better for them since Wolf is a Dom and Liv is submissive, although it's Wolf that shows her that side of herself.

These two not only heat up the pages, there is a very sweet "falling in love" story going on her too that made Eyes on You so romantic! The pages flew by for me and I found myself at the end of the story wanting more.

There is some drama here when Wolf takes Liv to Blasphemy, which she loves. She fits in with the other Dom's partners at the club and finds not only sexual expression but some friends there. It all gets threatened one night.  It's a good thing the other master's are there to help her out.

I loved everything about this story.  To me it was everything I look for in an erotic romance. Definitely recommended!

Review:Protecting Their Mate (part 1) by Moira Rogers

Protecting Their Mate (Part One)
The Last Pack
Digital
7/24/2017
Blake is on a mission from his alpha–to track down a werewolf whose parents dragged her into the human world years ago, one who may be in danger. He expects the lead to go nowhere, given how few wolves live among humans, but he discovers something rare indeed, caged in a basement: a beautiful, curvy woman gripped by the fever, ready to mate.

Ashley Todd has never fit in. She’s always been too much–too big, too demanding, too aware of the wolf hiding beneath her skin. She’s been locked away for months—been alone for a lifetime—and in walks Blake to save her from her prison. Her rescuer is hard, intense—a dominant wolf whose bossy attitude makes her growl…and yearn to submit.

Soothing Ashley’s mating fever is Blake’s responsibility–and his pleasure. Their passion is explosive, undeniable. But what started out as a job for Blake quickly becomes something more, and the toughest part of his mission looms: taking Ashley back to his pack so she can choose her permanent mate from amongst his brethren.

Ashley is drawn to dominant Blake, but meeting the rest of the pack reignites her desire. She is overwhelmed by her new life and all it entails, but embracing her inner wolf means embracing the truth: if she doesn’t explore her attraction to the other members of the pack, she’ll never find her forever mate.

Protecting Their Mate was originally published as an eight part serial under the penname Mia Thorne. It has been repackaged, but the story remains the same.

What I thought about Protecting Their Mate (part 1)
Ashley has been in the dark about her true nature, and when her father locks her in the basement to keep her away from  others while she's in heat,  she wonders if she's been abandoned.  It isn't until Blake tries to set her free that she finds out that she's really a wolf.

Blake is the second in command in their small pack, and he's been sent by the alpha to find Ashley and bring her back.  What he didn't count on was having to service Ashley during her time of need.  She's in bad shape, craving sexual contact in the worse way and Blake has to get permission to take care of her, which he does quite well in a very hot and steamy scene.

When a few others from Blake's pack arrives, they also get to help Ashley, with Blake's approval.  Ashley must choose from the pack who she wants for her mate, and Blake isn't sure that he will be the one, especially when Ashley meets Lucas, the pack alpha.

This was a steamy, quick read that had me wanting part 2 right now!  Ashley really has only one thing on her mind, so I'm eager to see what she will be like when her heat is over and she has to choose one of the pack to be her mate.

Overall, a very nice start to this shifter story. There really isn't anything unexpected in this story, but that didn't bother me as I got caught up in the story very quickly.  Can't wait for more!

Publisher: self-published
Length: 127K total; 12-18K for each novelette
Release Date: July 20, 2017

ROGUE DESIRE

When all else fails, find love.

Eight brand new romances for fans of the West Wing, fired-up #resistance fighters, and everyone who ever had a crush on that guy at a protest...

GRASSROOTS by Adriana Anders

Veronica Cruz is in the fight of her life for a seat on the city council. Meeting reclusive finance genius Zach Hubler should be a stroke of good luck—he has the power to sway public opinion. But when Election Day comes around and things don’t go as expected, Veronica has to know: just how shady is the man of her dreams?

DEEP THROAT by Dakota Gray

He's an escort, but that's not his biggest secret. She’s a maid at the hotel he uses “for business.” When their worlds collide, everything is put on the line. But indulging every secret desire comes at a cost, and the sins of the past won't be forgotten.

RESISTANCE by Amy Jo Cousins

All Kaz Shamsi wanted to do was get his college students to and from the DC protest without losing any of them. Getting caught up in the fringes of anarchist violence was not on the agenda. Neither was a motorcycle escape, messing around with a bandanna-masked antifa protestor, or figuring out that guy was one of the students he was supposed to be chaperoning. Now he's got a ten-hour bus ride back to campus ahead of him, with a stupidly cute student who makes terrible decisions trying to talk Kaz into making one more.

KISSING AND OTHER FORMS OF SEDITION by Emma Barry

When a global crisis threatens to go nuclear, the world tips upside down and spills out Graham Wilcox’s unspoken feelings for Cadence Martel. Cadence is equal parts shocked and delighted by his confession, but one night of passion isn’t enough. So the new lovers set out on a road trip to save the world.

TRUTH, LOVE AND SUSHI by Stacey Agdern

When First Daughter Caroline Crosby finds herself in possession of the one document that can bring her father and his administration down, she turns to a real life social justice warrior for help. Max Wilcox isn't sure what to make of Caroline: is this an elaborate hookup or a political conspiracy? But he has to make up his mind fast because the information and their chemistry could change the world—or break their hearts.

MY DELIGHT IS IN HER by Jane Lee Blair

When Leonard West chose the pastorate, his college girlfriend chose a life without him. But not wanting to be a pastor’s wife didn’t mean Kim Jones didn't want to work for the greater good. Now, her resistance work has led her back to Leonard, and they must grapple with their old pain. Can they trust God and each other enough to try again?

PERSONAL DISASTER by Ainsley Booth

Marcus Dane left the tech world and joined the National Park Service a decade ago. Now an intrepid reporter has tracked down the park ranger-who-could-have-been-a-billionaire and, even worse, she has a theory that could blow his quiet life to smithereens. He needs to send her packing. But he’s already tumbled head-over-heels in insta-lust with her flippy ponytail and smart mouth, and he just can't seem to let her go.

LIFE, LIBERTY AND WORSHIP by Tamsen Parker

Paige Robinson has been working out her angst about the new administration in spin class, until a handsome stranger with maddening politics harshes her mellow. Now she’s determined to get even…in the bedroom. Always awkward Carter Cox is shocked when his crush propositions him, but there's no way he's turning her down. Will their filthy assignation provide the catharsis Paige has in mind, or can they truly cross the aisle to find more?

What I thought about Rogue Desire

There are two things that attract me to an anthology -- authors I know and love and new authors I have yet to discover. This anthology has both. The theme of this anthology -- Resistance -- is a timely topic.

Although I didn't read all of the stories in this anthology yet, I'm basing my overall review on these two stories by authors I follow.

Resistance by Amy Jo Cousins is a fast-paced tale of forbidden lust between a TA and his student. The lines are certainly blurred in this one, with the TA giving in to his feelings during an exciting field trip to a protest.

I thought this was a very nice little side story to the Off Campus series. Kaz and Will definitely had some chemistry and the ending was left open for the reader, which was a nice little touch with this story and worked for me.

Life, Liberty and Worship by Tamsen Parker is an incredible short story dealing with Paige and Carter, who are seemingly on the opposite sides of the political fence. After a scorching hot (and I mean get out the fan cause you are going to need it..) night together, Paige's judgements about Carter's personal and political affiliations has both of them examining just what is important to each of them.

I thought this was a terrific short story that dealt with some very interesting political and personal assumptions that people often make and it left me wanting more adventures of Paige and Carter in the bedroom. The anthology is worth the price for this story alone. It's special.

Review: Chasing Destiny(Silver Tip Pack #2) by Megan Erickson

Some live on memories…

Almost dying during a pack uprising has a way of shaking things up. I’m no longer Mr. Laid Back now that there’s an itch under my skin I can’t scratch.

On a volunteer mission that goes beyond the walls of our compound, we enter the territory of a pack long thought dead, and find ourselves on the business end of their spears.

What I’m not prepared for is what I find within their walls—The one shifter I never thought I’d see alive, the one I’d mourned twice, the one I’d always loved. He is alive, and if I have anything to do with it, he’ll stay that way. But he’s got secrets, and exposing them could lead us to an enemy worse than the bloodthirsty undead shifters wanting to kill us all…

What I thought about Chasing Destiny

In Chasing Destiny, Bay takes a small team to go look for Reese's pack after rumors of sightings hit the Silver Tip Pack. He didn't expect to find his Nash after everyone in the pak thought he was dead.

Nash's reactions are a bit of a mystery to everyone. He doesn't seem all that happy to be found by his pack, and he's hesitant to build on his feelings for Bay. But once Nash returns to his pack, all the secrets are revealed and wow!

The book ends with an exciting action packed sequence that changes the lives of Nash and Bay forever.

This paranormal romance has a lot to like about it.  The world building is done well and it's easy to develop a vision of what this world looks like.  The M/M romance is pretty hot and very graphic -- it captures an animalistic feeling extremely well.  Sometimes that worked for me, sometimes not so much.

Overall, I did love this action packed story of love, loss and revenge. It kept me interested and the ending was just fabulous!  Looking forward to more from this series.

Review & Excerpt:Stubborn as a Mule (The Sex and Sweet Tea Series Book 2) by Juliette Poe

Down in Whynot, NC, there are three things that hold true: 1) life moves just a little bit slower, 2) family means everything, and 3) you don’t mess with history.

When his family decides to sell a home that’s been part of their history for over a century, Lowe Mancinkus is madder than a hornet. To add insult to injury, the woman who purchased it is some fancy pants, city girl looking to fix it up and sell it off. Doesn’t matter that she’s sexy as hell or that just being near her gets his blood racing like never before. That home belongs to his family, or at least it did until she came to town.

Well that just won’t do, now will it?

From the moment that she laid eyes on the historical home in rural North Carolina, Melinda Rothschild knew Mainer House was something special. The perfect escape from life in New York City, Melinda signed the papers and set to work restoring the house to its natural beauty. That is until an angry Lowe showed up on her doorstep one day. With a scowl on his handsome, chiseled face. And a shotgun in his strong, muscular arms.

Is it getting hot in here?

Melinda’s about to get a lesson on life in the south, but Lowe is about to learn a lesson of his own – this city girl doesn’t back down from a fight.

Excerpt

“Looking good, Lowe Mancinkus,” I hear a woman call out as I stretch upward to paint the top of the frame around the window. Turning my head to look over my shoulder, I see Lynette Carnes getting ready to walk into Sweet Cakes across the street. She’s our town’s very own Daisy Duke. By that, I mean she struts around in miniscule jean shorts, high heels, and a sleeveless blouse tied off just underneath her very ample chest.

She’s definitely nice to look at, although she doesn’t have much going on above the cleavage.

“Morning, Lynette,” I call back. “Lookin’ good yourself.”

She grins and blows a kiss at me before walking into Larkin’s shop.

The front door opens and Mely steps out onto the porch, carrying a cup of coffee. There’s no doubt in my mind she witnessed that exchange from the other side of the doorway. It’s obvious by the pinched expression she has on her face. Still, she brings the coffee over to me and sets it on the porch rail.

“Thanks, darlin’,” I tell her as I go back to brushing paint over the layer of primer I’d put on a few hours ago. I’d decided to work half a day here at Mainer House, not because I was anxious to get the work done, but because I wanted to be around Melinda Rothschild.

She may not be strutting around in little shorts and a low-cut blouse, but she is most definitely a prettier picture than I’ve ever seen around these parts. She’s wearing a white sundress with a halter top, and her shoulders are lightly tanned with tiny freckles. Her legs are long, bare, and perfectly adorned with nothing more than a pair of simple white sandals. Her silky blonde hair is pulled away from her face at the top of her head and she looks like a breath of fresh air.

Mely leans against the porch rail, crosses her arms low under her breasts, and watches me work for a minute. I wonder if she likes what she sees.

I think so.

There was going to be another kiss last night if Morri hadn’t managed to ruin that little moment. And while I’d never stoop to mention this to Mely, I’m pretty sure he’d been hovering at the top of the stairs, just waiting to ruin it.

“Much better than hot pink,” Mely says as I continue to apply paint to the casing. I have no clue what the hell I was thinking when I painted her house pink. It was an attention getter and since the two people whose attention it got were Mely and Judge Bowe, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out I might have been pulling on her metaphorical pigtails a bit.

“I should have this finished by tomorrow,” I tell her. “Then all will be right again.”

“Odd since it took you a single night to do the damage,” she quips. I don’t look back at her, but I hear the laughter in her voice.

“Well, neon pink isn’t all that easy to cover up,” I tell her with a laugh.

She snickers and I can’t believe she was trying to get me thrown in jail last week. My how the mighty have fallen.

“When in Rome and all that,” Mely says and I turn to look at her from my perch on the ladder. She jerks her chin over her shoulder in the direction of Sweet Cakes. “Is that the standard southern girl uniform?”

Chuckling, I cut my eyes over to Sweet Cakes where sexy Lynette just disappeared into. I’m not about to tell Mely that I have actual carnal knowledge about that southern girl, even if it was back in my younger years.

Looking back to Mely, I take in her stylishly sweet dress that doesn’t reveal much but is still sexy at the same time. Giving her a wink, I say, “There’s nothing standard about you, Melinda Rothschild, so I’m advising you to stay away from that look. I think you’re mighty fine just the way you are.”

What I thought about Stubborn as a Mule
Stubborn as a Mule is a very sweet enemies-to-lovers story set in the small town of Whynot, where everyone knows everyone's business and doesn't hesitate to create more drama.

When Lowe Mancinkus vandalized the old family home he loved, little did he know that the new owner was a cute girl he might like to spend time with.  It's only after the judge sentences him to working on the house to remove the neon pink paint he put there that Lowe finds out just what a sweet girl bought his familiy's home.

Mely isn't all that thrilled about the local guy who painted her house neon pink, and  she's not too excited about the judges sentence putting her in close proximity to Lowe at all hours of the day and night, but all it takes is one kiss to get this relationship on the path to love.

There's lots of gossip surrounding the two former enemies and an ex that threatens it all for Lowe and Mely.  Oh, and did I mention that Mely's best friend from New York is a drag queen with a taste for red sequins and practical jokes?

This is a very cute, low conflict romance that will leave you saying, "oh, isn't that sweet" which is the theme throughout this series. I really liked Lowe and Mely together and I'm really growing to like the little town of Whynot and it's residents.
