King gives readers an engaging erotic romance that addresses not only the physical highs and lows of a ménage relationship but also the emotional.” RT Book Reviews

Samantha Ann King is a USA TODAY Bestselling Erotica author who knows how to bring the heat. King takes the phrase “a night to remember” to a whole new place in her latest novel, TEMPTING MEREDITH – an extremely sensual tale about one woman’s past with two men and her future with another.

About TEMPTING MEREDITH:

Astrophysicist Meredith Burke's professional life is perfect. Her personal life is another story. Years ago, a menage with the man she loved and his roommate left her with a broken heart and a secret. She hasn't trusted anyone since, but when she meets rugged hunting guide Charlie Connor she figures she doesn't need to. He's got "one-night stand" written all over him.

After one night with Meredith, Charlie needs more. She's intoxicating, and shockingly willing to give him total control of her body. When she agrees to spend an entire week with him at the lodge where he works, it's more than he'd hoped for. But Blaine Bridges, Charlie's best friend and boss, has his own secrets.

Blaine hasn't seen Meredith since that disastrous encounter eight years ago, but he still has feelings for her. Now she's dating his best friend, the man he wants for himself. When Meredith invites him to join in their naughty play, his pleasure is all-consuming. But will the secrets they all hold close destroy a beautiful beginning or bring these three lovers closer than they ever imagined?

What I thought about Tempting Meredith

When Meredith agrees to a menage with her boyfriend's roommate, she has no idea how much that decision turns into a life-changing event. Eight years later, she has a doctoral degree, a good job and a hesitant heart when it comes to getting emotionally involved with a man. Until she meets Charlie.

Meredith decides to give Charlie a chance at something more than just a one-night stand, but things get interesting once she meets Charlie's roommate. It's Blaine -- her old boyfriend's roommate and it brings back lots of old memories that need to be resolved.

Tempting Meredith does a nice job of taking the reader through some fairly important discussions between these three characters. Not only is Meredith trying to understand her feelings for Charlie, Blaine and Charlie are now looking at their feelings for each other. The erotic parts of Tempting Meredith were hot, but what I liked the most was the developing relationships between these three.

This is a hot menage story where relationships are just as important as what happens in the bedroom and I really liked that about this story. A quick, spicy read with enough drama to keep it interesting.

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jay Crownover returns with a heart-stopping new series… Welcome to the Point. There’s a difference between a bad boy and a boy who’s bad . . . meet Shane Baxter. Sexy, dark, and dangerous, Bax isn’t just from the wrong side of the tracks, he is the wrong side of the tracks. A criminal, a thug, and a brawler, he’s the master of bad choices, until one such choice landed him in prison for five years. Dovie Pryce knows all about living a hard life and the tough choices that come with it. She’s always tried to be good, tried to help others, and tried not to let the darkness pull her down. Bax terrifies her, awakening feelings she never thought she’d have for a guy like him. But it doesn’t take Dovie long to realize . . . some boys are just better when they’re bad.

EXCERPT:

I let out the breath I was holding and took another step closer to her. The water was splashing on the sleeve of my shirt as I reached up to grab both of her cheeks in my palms. “Are you scared of me?”

It was the start of the questions I had asked her what felt like a lifetime ago. Her answer didn’t change, but this time when she answered, she was holding back a smile that made my heart hurt.

“Terrified, but I kind of like it now.”

“Do you trust me?” My voice broke. I had never really trusted anyone but Race and now there was her and my brother and just all kinds of new things making my life so much more complicated and undeniably fuller.

“With my life. I trust all the parts of you, Bax. You need to know that.”

“You going to go to bed with me?” That made her outright laugh and she reached up to curl her hands around my wrists.

“As often as I can and anyplace in between when the mood strikes.”

The rest of the blood racing around my system went solidly south. I dropped my forehead so it was resting on hers and the water from the showerhead was cascading down around us. I was making a mess, but I didn’t care because I had her, and she was my home.

“Do you love me?”

The words sounded so foreign, but so right, when I was saying them to her. She brushed her full lips across mine and the last three months without her faded away.

“Do you want me to lie to you or tell you the truth?” I smiled against her mouth and kissed her back twice as hard as she had kissed me. “Lie to me.”

She reached up and put her arms around my neck and took a step back, dragging me all the way into the shower stall with her. The water was lukewarm at best, and it made me shiver. So did the fact that she started to impatiently pull the tail of my shirt up over my head. A task made increasingly difficult considering I was now soaked head to toe and the material was clinging to me.

“Of course not. You’re the last person in the world I could love.”

Review: Devil's Game by Joanna Wylde

Devil's Game (Reaper's MC #3)
Author: Joanna Wylde
Release Date: June 3, 2014

Sypnosis:

Liam “Hunter” Blake hates the Reapers MC. Born and raised a Devil’s Jack, he knows his duty. He’ll defend his club from their oldest enemies—the Reapers—using whatever weapons he can find. But why use force when the Reapers’ president has a daughter who’s alone and vulnerable? Hunter has wanted her from the minute he saw her, and now he has an excuse to take her.

Em has lived her entire life in the shadow of the Reapers. Her overprotective father, Picnic, is the club’s president. The last time she had a boyfriend, Picnic shot him. Now the men in her life are far more interested in keeping her daddy happy than showing her a good time. Then she meets a handsome stranger—a man who isn't afraid to treat her like a real woman. One who isn't afraid of her father. His name is Liam, and he’s The One. Or so she thinks.

What I thought about Devil's Game

In this installment, we get Em’s story. It was fairly clear at the end of Reaper’s Legacy that she wasn’t finished with Hunter/Liam and here in Devil’s Game we find out just what’s been going on.

But first we have a retelling of the kidnapping scene from Reaper’s Legacy in Em’s and Hunter’s point of view. That takes up a bit too much of the beginning of the book for my liking, and while it filled in a few details, there wasn’t much new here.

But then things pick up somewhat, with Hunter really falling hard for Em. He is quite charming about it, in that MC sort of way, with a lot of dominance, a bit of stupidity, but always with a depth of feeling. I think that’s the charm of MC romances for me, there is an honesty to the men that makes you feel something for them, in spite of their neanderthal ways.

Anyway, Em and Hunter decide they are in it for the long haul and the second half of this book moved along nicely. There’s a great action scene involving a truck accident and sniper and Picnic and Hunter finally get their “moment” together. It’s been interesting to watch these two rival gangs, oops, clubs and how they are going to resolve their differences, although there was a lot of talk about it in this one.

There’s a ton of humor in this one too, from both Hunter and Em and I think I liked that the most about this book in the series. Well, that and the fact that Liam makes for a very interesting character and he knows how to turn up the heat.

So overall, I’ll give this 4 stars for the story, particularly for the love story between Em and Hunter. They’ve got a lot to overcome, and Hunter does change somewhat because of his feelings for her. I do like the Reapers and I think there are still a few more stories to tell there. I hope we get more of these two characters and that the saga of the rival MC’s continues in future installments. It’s the perfect backdrop for the romantic pairings that happen in each book.

What I thought about Better When He's Bad

I'm so very excited to be part of this blog tour! It's no secret I'm crazy about Jay Crownover's Marked Men series, so when she started talking about writing a truly bad boy, I was all in. Ms. Crownover knows how to write strong, straight-shooting men who accept themselves as they are, which in itself is pretty sexy.  Shane "Bax" Baxter has all that in spades, along with a criminal record and a dark past.

The story begins with Bax just released from prison. He's tracking down his best friend, Race, while he re-acquaints himself with the bad element in "The Point". It doesn't take long for him to hear about the redhead Race has been staying with, and it doesn't take Bax long to find her.

Dovie Pryce lives and works in The Point and one look at Bax and she knows he's bad news. And that's before just about every character in the book warns her off Bax, which became a tad repetitious, especially since we all know no girl ever listens to that anyway. But in spite of her resolve not to get involved with him, Dovie isn't immune to the Bax's alpha hotness, especially when all that attitude is turned up full blast.

In spite of everyone's warnings, she takes up with Bax, telling herself it's just to help him, and it isn't long before Bax has her right where he wants her -- in a super steamy scene on a kitchen counter.

It took me a little time to warm up to Dovie. At first, she seems naive and single-minded in her devotion to her family.  But as the inevitable and unlikely romance between Bax and Dovie develops and she see the deepest, hidden  parts of Shane Baxter, I fell for her just like Bax does. She's got heart, street smarts and a strong will.

As the hunt for Race goes on, details about the night Bax was arrested start coming out. It isn't clear how all the pieces fit together, and the reader doesn't know the whole story until everything blows up. I loved  the suspenseful way the pieces are revealed to eventually show the entire picture of what went down that night. Well maybe, because just when I thought I knew what had happened, new secrets get exposed in a brutal scene that had me a little teary-eyed for Bax and Dovie.

I had a book hangover for a few days after reading this.  For me, Bax and Dovie's love story was perfectly balanced with the suspense plot. Even though there were some repetitious parts, I was willing to overlook those because overall, I really enjoyed this read. If you like a gritty love story with a heaping dash of suspense, this book could be for you.

Can't wait for more of this series.  Nicely done, Ms. Crownover!

Excerpt:

Lock managed not to jump the sexy little Sunday school teacher the second her pen left the paper. Her hand had been shaking as she’d signed, and she wasn’t ready for sex. At least not the way he did sex. So he showed her into the restroom and let her freshen up. Meanwhile he conferred with the concierge to get her bag brought up and her car moved to a VIP spot.

When she emerged from the bathroom, he knew she was ready. He knew by the fresh lipstick on her full lips and the resolved set of her chin. But most of all he knew because of the flicker of curiosity in her eyes. Under the fear, she wanted to know what came next.

He crooked his finger and beckoned her to him.

Her breathing was shallow, her cheeks flushed, and she kept running her fingers through her hair, touching herself. That long blonde hair cascaded around her face in a messy tumble. Bed head, and they hadn’t been anywhere near a bed. Wouldn’t be near one anytime soon if he had his way. Which he would. This was his show.

She tugged the hem of her short skirt so it covered a sliver more thigh, drew her shoulders back, and crossed the room, steady on her bare feet. She should be plucking daisies, not padding across the plush carpet of his penthouse suite. “Your wish is my command.”

No more preamble. If she was really going to do this, he’d know now for sure. “I’m going to fuck you against that window over there, and I’m not going to be nice about it. Do you like to hurt, Hailey?”

Her name was a weapon on his lips. A sharp thing he could use to lash her. Every time he said it, he watched her tense. This time she wobbled, her answering nod barely perceptible, her coltish legs giving way under the weight of his regard. And he liked it.

She wanted this thrill, and at the moment finding her sister’s baby daddy didn’t have much to do with it. Her eyes held wariness and guilt—but most of all, excitement. As if his proposition had jolted her awake. More awake than she’d ever been in her drowsy little East Podunk life, he’d lay money on it.

He’d woken up on stage like that, the whiskey haze parting long enough for fear to creep in, adrenaline spiking into his bloodstream as he fumbled for an instant and then…click. Everything slipping into its proper place. The music. The band. The crowd. All of it more alive, more real, brighter and sharper because he’d come so close to disaster.

Do you like to hurt, Hailey? He’d asked her, and she could only nod.

He’d hurt her so good she’d give voice to that desire before he was through. She knew it. He knew it. The subtext breathed in the air around them, a living thing, that damned contract come to life. She wants this. She wants the lurid celeb fantasy. The shock, the pulse-pounding vibrancy that only exists on the edge of a bad decision.

He’d take her there.

“Take off your clothes,” he said, a little too harshly, his urgency coming out as hard-edged gruffness.

It didn’t scare her away. She wants that too. She fingered the button of her cardigan, uncertain, and then popped them all in a rush, exposing a silver tank that dipped low over her cleavage. Fuck. Surprisingly lush curves on her willowy frame, and smooth, pale skin.

He shifted in his seat, imagining his cock between her breasts. Making them slick, squeezing them together, and thrusting, thrusting, thrusting until he came all over her neck. Jesus, he hadn’t even seen them yet. She put a hand to her throat as if she could read his mind. As if every dirty thought he’d ever had was flashing on his face. And she knew. Why was she taking so fucking long to undress?

What I thought about Three Nights with a Rockstar
Sweet Sunday-school teacher Hailey borrows some provocative clothing and runs off to the big city in search of the guy who knocked up her sister.  It might have been a good idea for her to have some clue about where she was going and who she was looking for, but then again. that little omission sets up this sexy little fairy tale.

When Hailey literally runs into Lock, the band's frontman with a reputation, she really gets in over her head. Deep. Lock has a proposal for Hailey -- in exchange for three nights with him and free access to her body, she can play detective with the band and the crew for the information she wants about who knocked up her sister. And so the good girl decides she'll take a walk on the wild side.

Hailey is up for all the dirty things Lock wants to do with her and even finds herself falling for him. But everything goes downhill fast when a leaked security tape makes an appearance, and there's some serious consequences leaving Hailey's heart in jeopardy.

There's some definite heat between the rockstar and the school teacher. He doesn't go easy on her and she enjoys all the sexy and dirty things they do together. I loved that Hailey wanted to experience him, and that Lock discovers some things about himself because of his time with her. Not to mention that these two get it on, and on, and on...

Three Nights with a Rockstar is a nice little rock and roll fairy tale, an easy, one-night read full of sexy good fun, a bit of drama and a sweet ending. If you are looking for a short read with plenty of heat, this might be the one for you.

Cover Reveal & Giveaway: Thin Love by Eden Butler

Title: Thin Love
Author: Eden Butler
Genre: New Adult/Contemporary Romance crossover
Release Date: Mid to Late July 2014
Cover Designed by: Steven Novak @ Novak Illustration
Synopsis

Love isn't supposed to be an addiction. It isn't supposed to leave you bleeding.

Kona pushed, Keira pulled, and in their wake, they left behind destruction.

She sacrificed everything for him.

It wasn't enough.

But the wounds of the past can never be completely forgotten and still the flame remains, slumbers between the pleasure of yesterday and the thought of what might have been.

Now, sixteen years later, Keira returns home to bury the mother who betrayed her, just as Kona tries to hold onto what remains of his NFL career with the New Orleans Steamers. Across the crowded bustle of a busy French Market, their paths collide, conjuring forgotten memories of a consuming touch, skin on skin, and the still smoldering fire that begs to be rekindled.

When Kona realizes the trifecta of betrayal—his, Keira's and those lies told to keep them apart—his life is irrevocably changed and he once again takes Keira down with him into the fire that threatens to ignite them both.

Thin Love - Excerpt

She doesn’t stop him when he kisses her. She lets herself take in the heat of his massive body, lets it work over her skin. She inhales him—his scent, the hot rub of his tongue against hers, along her bottom lip. At first, she thinks she won’t react; that she’ll push back the sensation, ignore how sweet he tastes, how hard he feels against her. But then he holds her arms, leans into her until her back rests against the brick wall behind her and Keira is lost.

Kona still makes low groans in his throat when he kisses her; still has the softest lips, the most demanding, wide tongue.

She can’t help herself. He’s an addiction, her favorite drug. She wants a hit. She wants a million hits of him.

Her hands work up his arms, his immense shoulders and his groaning deepens, becomes a growl of pleasure when she returns his attentions. Their mouths aren’t frantic, but they do match each other. He pushes, she pulls, like always, like habit, and it is a delicious drugging dance; one she didn’t know she’d missed.

She feels the swift lick of disappointment when Kona pulls back, but it disappears with his fingers holding her face and the tips smoothing just over her cheekbones.

“My dirty little rascal,” he says, but he doesn’t return her smile, seems struck by how close they are standing, how easy this has been, to fall back into old habits. It was returning…their reactions to one another were primal, instinctual. Un-fucking-avoidable.

The song ends, but Kona hasn’t stopped examining her face. His breath is still hot and panting over her cheeks. It would be easy, so fucking easy, to let him consume her. Every touch is a recall of all the dangerous, desperate emotions Kona sparked in her. Every look dulls her memory, makes her forget how he hurt her, how he broke the promises he swore he’d always keep.

Kona leans in again, somehow moving closer, another hit that will edge her toward overdose and she stops him. The rational part of Keira’s mind pushes back the sensation of his touch and the embers are extinguished.

“Wait.”

He pauses, but doesn’t move away from her, doesn’t move his fingers from her skin.

“Wildcat, come on.”

“What are we doing?” Keira knows that expression. It hasn’t changed in sixteen years. Kona’s face is calm, but he frowns, forehead wrinkling in his agitation and Keira stops another attempt of his lips against her mouth. She pushes him back, palm flat against that tempting chest. “How’d this happen?”

Kona’s shoulders sag and finally, her skin is free of his touch.

“Memory lane,” he says.

“That’s a dangerous place.”

“If you say so.”

“I can’t do this with you.” She takes a breath. “I can’t ever do this with you again.”

His anger isn’t quick, not the instant snap of frustration she’d always known from him, but there is no humor on his face and despite her small rejection, he hasn’t moved his arms from the brick behind her. “Why the hell not?”

“I told you. We were not good together. I can’t…” Another slow breath and Keira tries to calm, to ignore the sweet scent of his skin. “I won’t be like that again.”

Too easy, she thinks, reminding herself how effortlessly Kona consumes her. Moth to flame, eager to die in the fire. She hated who she was with him, most days. She hated that she forgot good sense, any smidgeon of reason when he was around her. She didn’t like who she’d been at eighteen and it was that girl, that unbalanced, obsessed girl, that Keira had been running from all these years. She wouldn’t let that girl return, not now, not even for Kona.

When she slips out of the cage of his impossibly large arms, Kona reacts, old habits flirting to the surface. He grabs her arm and for a quick second, Keira feels her teenage self return. His fingers are hot on her bicep, licking heat, anger, passion, through her limbs and Keira fears the sensation, hates that she loves it so much, that she’d missed it more than she wants to admit.

Just like that, she’s ready to react, to fight and it takes all Keira’s strength to repress that inclination. “Don’t…”And at her small warning, Kona jerks back, hands up as though she burned him. “You see what I mean? Three weeks and it’s starting already.”

“I’m sorry.” Keira thinks that he might be telling the truth. He fans his fingers through his hair, eyes rounded as though he can’t believe how he’d reacted. “Please,” Kona says, taking a tentative step forward, voice easy, calm. “Don’t leave.”

She doesn’t want to see that expression on his face; the one that tells her he’s different, that his overwhelming presence is no longer dangerous. He’d fooled her once. He won’t get a second chance. A quick shake of her head and Keira turns away from him, tries to focuses on a plane above shooting away from the city, wishing she was on it. Kona’s breath warms her neck and Keira cringes at how much she’d missed this—him, her, the heat, the passion and it is like refusing the best high she’s ever had. She wants it so desperately, wants to forget all his sins just for a moment, just for one small taste of how good he made her body feel. “If I don’t walk away right now, I’m going to kiss you again.”

Kona’s low voice is heady, firm and Keira has to tighten her eyes closed when his fingertip slides down her spine. “I want you to.”

“I can’t. We…no, we can’t.”

“You’re scared,” he says, mouth hot against her neck.

“I’m petrified.” Despite herself, Keira leans back, lets Kona wrap his hands around her waist.

“I would never hurt you. You know I’d never touch you, not like that.”

No, he never had. Not once. She’d slapped him and punched him because she was angry, because they were twisted, because they both got off on it. But Kona had never returned the favor. His wounds cut deeeper.

“You’re no good for me. You were never good for me.” Keira turns, takes a step back so she can look at his face, so she can see how determined he is to change her mind. “I was a crazy person with you. Obsessed. I can’t relive the past.”

“I’m not the same person.” Kona pulls her forward, gripping her waist in his too large hands until their bodies are flush, until Keira can feel the hard, delicious planes of his chest and the corded muscles of his thighs. She knows he won’t hurt her. She knows he won’t let her go. Kona takes her face again, moving her chin so she’s forced to look at him. “You’re not the same, Wildcat and that was a long time ago.”

And then Keira lets that girl sneak to the surface. She lets her take Kona’s mouth, pull his shirt so that her tongue licks against a wide expanse of tempting, copper skin. She lets that girl enjoy Kona’s mouth, his hands, the way he feels hard, demanding against her, until the night darkens, deepens and her rejection, though halfhearted, comes again.

Kona stops pushing, stops demanding and before he leaves Keira out on that balcony, he reminds her why she’d loved him in the first place. He reminds her why she should love him again.

“I only know one thing—no one sets my skin on fire like you do. No one. Not one person has ever made me feel like I’m alive like you. That hasn’t changed, not in sixteen years. Don’t try to pretend it isn’t the same for you.”

Her debut novel, a New Adult, Contemporary (no cliffie) Romance, “Chasing Serenity” launched in October 2013 and quickly became an Amazon bestseller.

When she’s not writing or wondering about her possibly Jack Sparrowesque ancestor, Eden edits, reads and spends way too much time watching rugby, Doctor Who and New Orleans Saints football.

She is currently living under teenage rule alongside her husband in southeast Louisiana.
